My community-based work centers on creating opportunities for people to connect, participate, and make art together. Through Panther City Artists and partnerships with local organizations, I develop and facilitate collaborative projects that invite people of all ages and abilities into the creative process. For me, the value is not only in what we create, but in the connections that happen along the way.

Artists Statement

I believe everyone is an artist. My work is rooted in the idea that art has the power to bring people together, create connections, and give people a sense of belonging.

I am a multidisciplinary artist, and I love the freedom of moving between materials and processes. I work with paint, clay, glass, fiber, collage, found materials, and whatever else best serves the idea or the people involved. I am less interested in being defined by one medium than I am in exploring what art can do.

Collaboration is at the heart of my practice. I love creating projects where people of different ages, abilities, and experiences can contribute something of their own to a larger work. A single painted section, ceramic tile, piece of glass, or stitched square may seem small on its own, but when those individual pieces come together, they tell a much bigger story.

My role is often part artist, part teacher, and part facilitator. I create the framework and then make room for others to bring their own ideas and experiences into the work.

For me, the finished artwork matters, but the connections made while creating it matter just as much.
